Accessing the Turnitin Plagiarism tool access through the Institution account

Turnitin is the leading academic plagiarism detector, utilised by teachers and students to avoid plagiarism and ensure academic integrity. Turnitin provides instructors with the tools to engage students in the writing process, provide personalised feedback, and assessment of student progress over time.

SLIIT Academic Staff Accounts

  • SLIIT Academic staff have access to the Turnitin web tool.
  • Accordingly, all Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, Assistant Lecturers will have “Instructor Accounts”.
  • Academics who have instructor accounts can use the “Bulk Uploading method" to check full class submissions.
  • Academics are requested to complete the online form available at the following link and forward it to the library. When the request is successfully added to the Turnitin, he/she will receive an email from the Turnitin including all configuration details. Follow up the email and configure your account.
  • Special Note: Please mark the "Do not Store Submitted Paper" option when submitting papers to check plagiarism until confirmed as a final paper.

    Students who are in the 2nd semester of the 2nd year are eligible to request for a Turnitin account. Students are requested to complete the online form available in the following link and to forwarded it to the library. When the request is successfully added to the Turnitin, he/she will receive an email from the Turnitin including all configuration details. Follow up the email and configure your account.

    Grammarly

    Grammarly is an English language writing assistant software tool. It reviews the spelling, grammar, and tone of a piece of writing as well as identifying possible instances of plagiarism. It can also suggest style and tonal recommendations to users and produce writing from prompts with its generative AI capabilities. Please contact the library for further assitant.

    EndNote is a commercial Reference Management Software package, used to manage bibliography and references when writing essays, reports and articles.

    All Postgraduate students and undergraduate students of 3rd & 4th year are eligible to access the Plagiarism checker tool through the digital library. If you experience any problem related to using the tool, please contact the library team.
